With pride and sadness, we honor the young men with ties to our Ohio–Indiana–Kentucky tristate area who have bravely laid down their lives in the cause of freedom. It is with great pride that we acknowledge their service, their bravery and their love of country. It is with sadness that we recognize the loss of all that was great and good in these soldiers. Please be resolved to never forget what they have done for you and your loved ones. Remember their faces.

Girl Scout Troop 40411 – Daisy Troop. What a great group of girls, it is great to see that after all these years they still have these groups for our children to join, and learn, about helping others.

The Fallen Hero Foundation has been created to raise monies for establishing a museum to house the memorabilia of the young men and women who have given their lives in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom to ensure the continued security, prosperity and freedom we enjoy. We are honored to have on board for this project Bootsy Collins and Shayne Graham. Bootsy Collins has produced a CD featuring both, artists of international acclaim and local talent. Shayne Graham designed “Welcome Home Matt Maupin” dogtags. All proceeds from sales are generously donated to the Fallen Hero Foundation. The CD, Fallen Heroes Memorial, is available for $20.00 at www.bootsycollins.com and the “Welcome Home Matt Maupin” dogtag is available for $15.00 at www.shaynegraham.com. Both items are featured at www.yellowribbonsupportcenter.com and most Yellow Ribbon Support Center events. |

Tom Tressler came into the Center one day and said he wanted to do something to help the troops. He came up with the idea of collecting DVDs and sending them to the troops. He called it "Project In Theatre". He spent a lot of time contacting different companies with this idea. Finally he found one that wanted to participate in this mission. When it was all said and done… We will be meeting with Convergys at their global headquarters downtown, Cincinnati on Wednesday, March 16, 2011. Convergys agreed to participate by collecting CDs and DVDs to send to the men and women serving in harm's way in Iraq and Afghanistan. Their goal was to collect 600 but their total was 845 CDs and DVDs. This is a great response to a request to help support the men and women fighting terrorism. We felt it was important to give them an opportunity for some entertainment while not on hazardous missions. We will also have some military personnel at the meeting to confirm for Convergys this is a great idea because, while they were serving in Iraq or Afghanistan, this type of entertainment wasn't available and it will certainly raise the morale of thousands of the troops. The plan is to send the CDs to the FOBs. (Forward Observing Base) where they will remain for the next unit that is stationed there. A big thank you goes to Convergys and their employees who contributed. Special thanks to Tom Tessler for making this happen. Till they all come home, Keith Maupin |
